The 6th Annual Empty Bowls Event-Join us in Making a Difference!
A benefit for Fresh Food Partnership-Raising Funds and Awareness to Fight Hunger
Throughout The Grand Traverse Region

Once Again area artisans, restaurants, businesses, and volunteers have joined together in planning the 6th Annual Empty BowlsTM Event to be held Sunday, April 27th, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Park Place Dome in Traverse City. The Empty BowlsTM Event is both a joyous community gathering and an opportunity to show support for thempty_bowls_1_2.jpge Fresh Food Partnership. Organizers anticipate over 500 people will contribute $15 each to join in a delicious meal of soup, bread, and beverages as they are entertained by music. The food will be donated by the Grand Traverse Area's finest restaurants and producers. Before leaving, everyone will be invited to select a hand-made ceramic bowl donated by a local student or artist as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.

The Artcenter Traverse City will again co-sponsor this event that promises to be bigger and better than ever. All money raised at the event will be "put to work" by the Fresh Food Partnership. to deliver fresh produce to 34 different food pantries and community meal programs across our five-county region. Literally thousands of people have been able to eat better food while benefiting local producers. For information, please imgdance3_0169_3.jpgcontact the Fresh Food Partnership at coordinator@freshfoodpartnership.org.

The artcenter Traverse City again will provide bowls for this sucessful local event.

Proceeds raised at the event will be “put to work” by the Fresh Food Partnership (FFP). The FFP is a coalition of nonprofit organizations and volunteers working to buy and distribute locally grown fruits and vegetables from area farmers to local food pantries for people in need.

Empty BowlsTMis an internationally recognized program available for individual communities to use in an effort to raise hunger awareness and to help feed the hungry within their community. The fundraising concept has a second mission as well, to advocate for arts education and involve students in community service.
