Thank you for making this one of the best events ever!

A gigantic thank you to all of you who participated in making this year’s Empty Bowls event a such splendid success! It was truly amazing to watch all of the pieces come together in the seemingly effortless manner that it did. Many, many comments were overheard throughout the event on how well it went, how much fun was had, and what a good cause it supports.

So, just how well did we do? It looks like over 700 people participated in this year’s event. It should be noted that this year we

Increased sponsorships by about 20%;

Reduced event costs by over 30%;

Held a successful silent auction with over 80 winning bids;

Had precisely the right number of volunteers (84);

Enjoyed the perfect amount of fabulous soups, bread and beverages donated by area restaurants and businesses; and

Gave over 600 bowls to our guests as reminders of all the empty bowls in the world.

All told, it appears the 2013 Empty Bowls was a tremendous success! Fresh Food Partnership is extremely grateful and humbled by the support of this generous and engaged community!

11th Annual Empty Bowls Event

Supporting Fresh Local Food from Farm to Pantry

Sunday, April 13, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hagerty Center in Traverse City

Enjoy a joyous community luncheon that includes a delicious meal of soup and bread (vegetarian and gluten-free options available), some toe-tappin’ musical entertainment, an exciting silent auction, and your choice of a handmade bowl as a reminder of all of the empty bowls in our area. All for a contribution of $15.

The event is sponsored by Fox 32 and The Great Lakes Culinary Institute. All of the food is donated by local restaurants and the bowls are handmade by local artists and students.

As we get closer to the 2014 Empty Bowls event, tickets will be available at Oryana, the Land Information Access Association and, on the day of the event at the Hagerty Center.
