Fresh Food PartnershipDelivering Locally-Grown Fresh Foods to People in Need.
The Fresh Food Partnership has a two-fold mission:
How Do We Do It? With the help of dozens of volunteers from throughout the Grand Traverse Region, we purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers and deliver this produce to over 30 pantries, shelters and meals programs in a five county area. Learn more about volunteering.
Why Do We Do It? Fresh fruits and vegetables are expensive - much more expensive per pound than most canned and packaged foods. Unfortunately, the less expensive foods contain large amounts of sugar, carbohydrates, fats and salts. Not a very healthful combination. Without the help of the Fresh Food Partnership, the area's food pantries, shelters and community meals programs do not receive a regular supply of fresh food. Learn more about emergency food needs in our region.
You Can Help! We raise funds through individual contributions, gifts, grants, and fundraising events to purchase locally grown fresh produce. Please join us by making a contribution, participating in a fundraising event, or working as a volunteer. This page last updated on 3/16/2008.
